Step 1 - Select the text for copying

First, select the text that you want to copy from the manual by holding down the left button on your mouse and dragging the mouse cursor across the desired text to highlight it:

Step 2 - Copy the text to your clipboard

To copy the selected text from the manual, either:

1) click with the RIGHT mouse button: a menu will pop up - now click with the left mouse button on the word "Copy" in the menu,

or

2) hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and then press the key for the letter C at the same time (CTRL+C).

In either case, the highlighted text will now be copied to, and held on, the "Clipboard" on your computer.

Step 3 - Decide where you want to paste it

Next, move your mouse cursor until it is above the place in your letter where you want to add the text and click your left mouse button to place the cursor at that point. Use your Delete and/or backspace keys to remove any unwanted text.

Alternatively, you can highlight the text that you want to be replaced by what you are pasting into the letter from the manual by holding down the left button on your mouse and dragging the mouse cursor across the desired text:

Step 4 - Paste the text into your document

  • To paste the text into your letter, you should now click with the RIGHT mouse button and a menu will pop up.
  • If you then LEFT click on the SECOND of the three "paste" option icons (called "Merge Formatting"), your text will be pasted into the letter and it will adopt the existing formatting of your letter or email.
  • Tidy up any formatting errors, such as varying fonts or font sizes.
