Initial checks

1.1 Check that no advance notice or FR application has been received for the subjects.

1.1.1 Check the search sheet(s) on CSR to ensure that no advance notice or FR application has been recorded/registered.

1.1.2 Complete an address search in the CSR to ensure there is no entry in the presentment book which is yet to be entered onto the search sheet.

1.1.3 Complete an address search on the LRS to ensure no application to register the subjects has been received.

1.1.4 If an advance notice or FR application has been received, refer to senior officer.

Create application

1.2 Open the LRS and select the Intake Enter function in the county the KIR application is being created in.

1.4 Select application type KR from picklist. This will open the 'Create Case Box' screen.

1.4.1 Select 'KR = Keeper-induced Registration' from the Application Type drop-down list and click OK.

1.5 Click Finish. The KR application has now been created and will appear on the LRS case work desk.

1.5.1 Note the application number and title number.


1.6 Select the application on the LRS case work desk and open the application workdesk.

1.7 Enter property type 'R' (from picklist). Where the subjects are not residential, refer to senior officer.

1.8 The default class code '0' should be retained. This is the appropriate class for a KIR application. 

1.9 Enter subjects details.

1.9.1 Click Details and enter address details.

1.9.2 Select Browse. This will open the Gazetteer Search screen.

1.9.3 Enter house number and postcode and click Search.

1.9.4 Highlight the address and click Copy. The address will now appear in your list of addresses.

1.9.5 Check details and click Close.

1.10 Enter proprietor details. 

1.10.1 Select the Applcnts/Grntrs tab and click Applicants 'Details'.

1.10.2 Click 'Add' Address.

1.10.3 Click 'Add' Name.

1.10.4 Enter the details of the last recorded proprietor in the relevant fields. This information will be taken from the search sheet entry.

1.10.5 If there is more than one proprietor at the same address include the appropriate link from the options in the Link Text field, e.g. "both", "spouses", etc.

1.10.6 Check details and click Close.

1.11 Click Apply and Confirm application.
