7.0 Showing or Hiding References and Changing the Render Order in Plan Creator

See also 14 Applying Filters in the Plan Creator for ways of selecting and viewing particular sets of references.

7.1 Show/hide function - References

The show/hide function works by hiding a specific polygon, or by showing it. The default setting is always showing the polygons.

  • To hide a polygon, click on the “eye icon” next to the specific polygon.

  • To show a hidden polygon, toggle it back on by clicking on the “eye icon”.

Please note, when a polygon is hidden using the “eye icon”, the polygon is safe from being split or deleted.

  • If you have hidden a reference, you will not be able to save or print to PDF until all references are visible again.

7.2 Show/hide functions - Groupings

The show/hide function works by hiding a specific grouping, or by showing it. The default setting is always showing the grouping.

  • To hide a grouping, click on the “tick box” next to the specific grouping.

  • To show a hidden grouping, toggle it back on by clicking on the “tick box”.

Please note, when a polygon is hidden because the “tick box” by the grouping has been toggled off, the polygon is not safe from being split .

  • If you have hidden a grouping, you will not be able to save or print to PDF until all groupings are visible again.

7.3 Change the render order of tinted polygons

It is possible to change the order of some of the tinted polygons that you have created. You may have overlapping polygons (for example a tint for ownership and a smaller tint for a burden) and you need a specific one to be “on top” in order to see it. To do this, click and hold your mouse on the name of the reference or polygon that you would like to move, then drag the reference up or down the list until it is in the order you would like.

See Further Guidance page Render Order Rules in the Plan Creator for full details of the correct order of references.

7.4 Selecting & Viewing individual references

  • When the check box for an individual reference is clicked on, the map canvas will display that reference centrally on screen.

  • When multiple references check boxes are clicked on, the map canvas will display all selected references as "best fit".

  • However, if references are already (partially) visible on the map canvas, no centering or zooming occurs if the check box is clicked on.
