RoS supported character set

SUPPORTED CHARACTER SET

RoS online services support the ISO-8859-1 character set.  English is fully supported by ISO-8859-1, examples of other languages that are fully supported appear below:

  • Danish
  • Gaelic
  • German
  • Irish (New orthography)
  • Italian
  • Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk)
  • Portuguese
  • Spanish
  • Swedish

Characters entered into advance notices or eForms that are not supported by this character set  will be replaced with an error character. Users will be unable to submit advance notices or eForms containing error characters. You are advised to replace letters with diacritical marks with their plain equivalents, such as replacing Ž with Z, or Ş with S.
