Dual Registration - SAF

If your case is a dual registration which needs to be registered on the Sasines as well as the Land Register then you will only be required to intake the case and complete an SDR form.

  • In CMS, read the case collaboration notes from the Complex Settle caseworker on how to create the LRS application.
  • Request further clarification if necessary.
  • The documents should already have been checked by a Complex Settler but double check the documents and complete LBTT checks if necessary.
  • The agent may request multiple copies of extracts which will be detailed on the SAF form.
    • If they require more than one extract, there is a charge per additional extract. Ensure that this is included in the fee when you create the UID.
    • In Efin, create a Sasines UID for the SAF (and an ordinary one for the DW if the payment method is cheque).
      • To create a Sasines UID, select S (instead of D) for the registration type before choosing the county.
      • Use the FAS number from the SAF.
        • This should be the Direct Debit/E-Payment account. If it's not then check the supporting documents for a cheque for the Sasines fee.
      • In the narrative section on the Item, add the Agent's reference.
      • If multiple extracts are requested, choose “AE” as the deed type.
        • Add the number of extracts to the relevant box.
        • Add the number of pages in the deed when the "Number of Pages in Extract" is requested.
        • The fee is automatically calculated but check it is correct for each additional extract.
  • In LRS, create an LRS application, manually inputting all the details and App Confirm the application.
    • Click Get UID to create a UID for the DW if the payment method is direct debit.
  • Go back to CMS and enter the LRS application number in the relevant box.
  • Click "Get Application Details". This will show you all the details of the title for you to confirm that they are correct.
    • If there are multiple APFs on this screen but they can be created with 1 LRS application (e.g. a Disposition and a Standard Security) then type the same application number in both boxes and then select the relevant Deed type when requested.
  • Add a case collaboration note to the new LR case stating the Sasine UID that you have created.
  • Click Submit.
    • This will create an LR case and it will move to the Complex workbasket automatically.
  • Open the Sasine Dual Registration (SDR) template in Word and complete as much as possible of the form (down to "County" in the Sasine section).
    • The UID number referred to here is the Sasines UID that you have created.
    • You can find the Search Sheet number on the A section of the Title Sheet in LRS.
  • Save the document and email it to Dual Registrations.
  • Release the LRS application to Legal Settle.
