P13.1 OVERVIEW OF THE DIGITAL MAPPING SYSTEM

The Digital Mapping System provides RoS with a fully computerised mapping system which consists of the following: -

  The Drawing Tool and Survey Editor for all graphical functions including editing maps, mapping and displaying extents of titles, Research Areas, TPO's and Common Deeds Indexes.  

  • The Map Comparator for comparing different versions of maps and surveys.  
  • The Street Gazetteer for accessing the Mapbase by property address, grid reference or map name.  
  • Mapbase Management and Survey Control facilities, for loading, comparing, editing and management of maps and survey information.  
  • Scanning Utilities for scanning documents/maps and attaching the images to titles and reports.  
  • Reports data entry, search, maintain and archive. Attaching of images to reports and positioning reports markers is also included.  
  • The data entry screens (forms) - a number of forms for entering, updating and displaying text information in the database.  
  • System Administration facilities for managing the system hardware etc.
