PIP 5/2012 Crofting House A Sections

Plans Information Paper 5/2012: Crofting House A Sections

In crofting townships, the postal address of the property may refer to the township name in the address, narrated in either the DIR or Form 1. Due to the lack of fields in the LRS Browser, the OSAP address may not reflect this. The Royal Mail does however narrate township names in the postal addresses, and in many cases in crofting areas the postal address will be the township, locality and post town.

e.g.

Royal Mail: 106 Achriesgill, Rhiconich, LAIRG, IV27 4RJ

Gazetteer

Royal Mail: 17 Coast, Poolewe, ACHNASHEEN, IV22 2LR

Gazetteer

If registering a property similar to the above where the crofting township is in the property description and this varies with the OSAP address then check the Royal Mail website. If the Royal Mail address includes the crofting township then delete the OSAP address and enter the address manually, typing the township in the 'Thoroughfare' field. A Title Note should be added explaining why you have not accepted the OSAP address.
