P27 Quality Issues
Unclosed Polygons - When a polygon is created using the POLY functionality it is vital that the CLOSE button is used to complete the polygon. Open polygons can create problems when upgrades are introduced to the system. Please note when using LASSO or BOUND the system will automatically "close" the polygon. Open polygons also have an impact on Registers Direct when imported across in that the edging seeps or fills as a tint.
Mapping without snapping to OS Vector Points - It is essential that when mapping over O.S. detail that the polygon is snapped to the map points. Note when a polygon is not snapped to map points it leaves either (a) property that was in the clients legal title now outwith or (b) creates a competing title with the property next door. These small areas of deviation may be viewable on Registers Direct.
Copy and Pasting Common areas from the Index map - Remapping the common areas rather than copy and pasting can lead to caseworkers inadvertently creating competing titles - See Section 13.6.7
Not taking into account available PR info when plotting and scaling - It is critical that the Index Map is fully utilised to ascertain if there are any existing previous registrations. Caseworkers are reminded when mapping subjects to adjoin registered property that it must be completed accurately so as to avoid creating unregistered gaps or competing titles.
Unstacked seed points - This has implications for customers utilising the Search Facility within Registers Direct - See Plans Information Paper 3/2002 and Section 14.2.13
Using any colour other than black for pecked lines - Inconsistent with Agency Policy - See Section 14.2.7.1
