S7.3 Warrants: Historical Information

Prior to the appointed day deeds presented for recording required to have a Warrant of Registration written on it. This was an instruction to the Department giving authority to record the deed. The Forms of Warrant were laid down in Schedule F of the 1924 Act and in the Notes to that Schedule.

The Statutory form of Warrant (which does not specifically mention publication) was provided by Schedule F:

Register on behalf of the within named AB [or on behalf of AB (designation)] in the Register of the County of G [or in the Registers of the Counties of G, H & J].

AB
or         CD, W.S., Edinburgh, Agent
or         E & F, W.S., Edinburgh, Agents
(or as the case may be)
