S2.5.2 Labelled Minute - No. 59 x 26 Oct. 1988

(1) Yearly running number – the yearly running numbers are a running tally of the writs recorded for a county in a particular year. This is Midlothian Minute number 59,980 for 1988.

(2) Daily number – This shows the position of the Minute in the daily intake for the county.

(3) Recording Date – the date that the deed was received for recording.

(4) Record Volume Reference – either a book and folio number or a fiche and frame number. This reference is required to obtain a photocopy of the deed.

(5) Deed Type – the type of transaction that has been recorded.

(6) Granter – the person making the transaction.

(7) Grantee – the person (or persons) benefiting from the transaction.

(8) Designation – the address of a party to the deed.

(9) Destination – the way in which the property is held between two or more Grantees.

(10) Subjects – a description of the property affected by the transaction. On the Search Sheet, the property description in the Minute used to be replaced by “the S of S”, an abbreviation for “the Subjects of Search”. This means that the property description in the Minute is the same as the subjects of search on that Search Sheet.

(11) Execution Date – the date or dates on which the deed was signed.

(12) Consideration – the price paid for the property. This was formerly hand-written in the margin of the Search Sheet, but is now printed below the Minute.
