- Solicitor(s) to the Supreme Courts - S.S.C.
- Writer(s) to the Signet - W.S.
Degrees and honours are never minuted.
One half, two thirds &c. are generally expressed as fractions. (There are exceptions such as north half of first flat, westmost quarter of lands of X).
All numbers relating to property, e.g. 2 houses, 2 pieces, house of 3 storeys, are shown in figures, but words are used for two Bonds, the two immediately preceding Minutes &c.
Nineteenth year, tenth lot, Lot twenty third, are minuted respectively as 19th year, 10th Lot, Lot 23rd, and the like in similar cases.
Barony, Dukedom, Earldom, Lordship, Parish are not to be contracted.
The General, Particular or Burgh Registers of Sasines are abbreviated as “G.R.”, “P.R.” and “B.R.” respectively.
Dates
All months except May are contracted in minutes:
Jan., Feb., Mar., Apr., May, Jun., Jul., Aug., Sep., Oct., Nov. and Dec.
All dates in a minute are shown in the order of the day, month and year, e.g. 21 Aug. 1960.
