S3.1.3 Widows

S3.1.3 Widows

Where a writ refers to someone as being a widow of another, this is not minuted as long as it can be assumed they resided together.

However, in the following example the minute would have to fully reflect the writ.

Writ:
Disp. - To Anne Brown or Chester, widow of Charles Chester, Corporal, 1st Battalion, Royal Scots, Glencorse.

Minute:
DISP. - To ?pANNE ?nBROWN OR CHESTER?z, widow of Charles Chester, Corporal, 1st Battalion, Royal Scots, Glencorse.
