Value given "in excess of..."

The Fees page and Voluntary Registration page have been updated to give guidance on when it is appropriate to accept an application where an approximate value has been stated on the form.  For example, if the value is stated to be “in excess of £5,000,000” this is acceptable, since we have sufficient information to calculate the correct fee even though an exact figure has not been provided.

This is not something commonly encountered at present, but as land register completion progresses, the likelihood of such statements appearing in voluntary registration applications is expected to increase.
