PV 15 - How do I know if a title plan or cadastral unit was mapped in the Plan Creator or DMS?

PV 15 - How do I know if a title plan or cadastral unit was mapped in the Plan Creator or DMS?

When preparing for the complete shut-down of the DMS and the old database of titles, all of the titles and index entries mapped in the DMS were migrated into the CadMap database that supports the Plan Creator and Plan Viewer (PV). The migration started in October 2021 with the titles from the first four counties being moved over, and was completed in early 2024 with the migration of the final index entries and those few DMS titles that contained errors needing a manual correction. As a consequence of this, all titles must now be edited within Plan Creator.

Quick check

When you are viewing a title sheet in the PV, there is a simple, quick way of checking whether a title was mapped in the Plan Creator or in the DMS:

If the title was mapped in the Plan Creator, when viewed in the PV you will find a list of all classified references and groupings associated with that cadastral unit above the property section information in the TItle Information panel.

If the title was mapped in the DMS, then there will be no classified references or groupings, so when viewed in the PV you will just see the plans references with an Unknown classification above the property section information in the TItle Information panel.

How to identify a migrated title - fuller explanation

The origin of all titles created in the DMS or Plan Creator can be checked in the PV using the History tab

How do I identify a ....?

Latest application type

MGM or MG

Any (except MGM/MG)

Classifications

The Unknown classification show that the title was moved over automatically from the DMS, not that it is still a DMS title.

Once a migrated title has been edited in the Plan Creator, the Unknown classifications will be replaced with the classifications selected by the plans officer.

Classifications will be fully defined.

Summary

Migrated titles will show a new application type, MG or MGM and will have a Plan origin of PC. This application type will allow you to identify migrated titles and the provenance of their base map after migration:-

MGM – No basemap updates affect this title

MG – The title needs basemap updates performed to it.

Classifications will be Unknown until edited by a plans officer in the Plan Creator.

These titles will show a plan origin of PC and will have a last application type that is not MG or MGM.

Classifications will be fully defined
