Nil Return - Sift Instructions

Some applications contain no relevant case characteristics which need to be recorded. However we still need to be able to identify those applications, so it’s essential to note this on the JIRA ticket.

How will I recognise Nil Return?

  • Count the number of burdens and servitude deeds as usual.
  • Go through all the usual checks looking for case characteristics.
  • If there are no other case characteristics which need to be added, select the Nil Return characteristic.

What else do I need to know?

It may seem  unnecessary, but the Nil Return characteristic helps to ensure that we are accurately sifting all cases.
