At the time of plans settling, the prefix field should always begin with the word "Subjects". In addition, for 2012 Act titles, the prefix field should always contain the cadastral unit number of the plot registered within that title sheet. Template prefix entries are available in a picklist and should be used whenever possible to ensure consistency.

The rest of the information contained in the prefix field should relate to that part of the description of the subjects which is not indexable. No sub-building, house number or house name/building name should ever be input into the prefix field.

Supplementary information given in the application, such as a plot number, name of a housing development, or the numerical value of the area of ground (for example, 0.012 hectares), should be entered into the additional information field on the application workdesk so that it can be viewed by our customers on registers directScotLIS.
