Blog from March, 2015

A new page has been added to the manual today giving guidance on how we should be showing the plans references for development extents, etc in deeds of conditions - Mapping & Updating Deeds of Conditions. This includes a change to the previous guidance when your property is a flatted property in a development.

Certified plans

A page about when certified plans can be used has been published - see Certified Plan Procedure.

Common Rejection Reasons and Conditions

This page of the manual has been expanded to provided text for use in rejection letters covering the majority of reasons for rejection that may occur. The page is split between intake, plans and legal. At present legal reasons are mainly covered by those in the Intake part of the page,  but the information in the page will continue to be expanded and it is anticipated that Cool Ice Codes will be added in particular.

Update to Fees guidance

The Fees page contains information about when a registration fee may need to be charged on the value of the plot of land being registered rather than any consideration stated to apply. The guidance has been updated to emphasise that a registration officer should use only the information available from the the application being examined.

2 new sections have been added to the existing page for plans settlers on Property Section Styles in the Title Sheet - one section on the LRS picklist options, and one on how to describe a property that forms part of a development.

To assist registration staff with searching of the 2012 Act Registration Manual, we have added two new pages to the Hints and Tips section of the manual.

The first of these pages, called Saved Searches, provides a list of subjects and related structured search terms in the form of a link. When a link is clicked, this will trigger a search of the manual and return up-to-date results for those terms.

The second page, called Advanced Searching, describes how the search syntax works to refine a search. This page provides guidance on how to tailor advanced searches of the manual. These more advanced or structured searches return a shorter lists of matches that are more likely to include the required page near to or at the top of the list of results.

Registration staff are urged to use the “Feedback” page in the manual to ask for further search terms or phrases to be considered for inclusion in this list or if they need any assistance with searching.

A new Further Guidance section has been added on what to do with, and how to map, the large Estates often defined in local authority sales in the county of Angus - Angus Local Authority Properties - Rights to Park in Estate. These Estate references are commonly referred to as the Angus brown edges.

A small amendment has been made to /wiki/spaces/2ARM/pages/65143148 to include the second option for referencing an island site or hole within a cadastral unit (i.e. to be used when the cadastral unit is mapped using the tinting method). The wording of the property section note to be used when an island site is tinted green & edged red has also been updated to agree with the LRS picklist.

The existing page on Supplementary Data, SPLs and Supplementary Plans has been extended to give more guidance on using existing scanned supp plans and plotted SPLs with 2012 Act cases.
