PV 22 - How do I identify if an overlapping title is mapped on a frozen base map?

On interrogating the index map, there may be instances where the extent of a title being mapped appears to overlap with another title, or two registered titles overlap. If one of those titles is a development, or a property within a development, the overlap may not be a competing title, but an example of the development and subsequent removal having been plotted onto a frozen base map, i.e. an older version of the Ordnance Survey map. The development titles will be updated onto the current OS map once the development is completed and the apparent overlap will be resolved then.

To identify if the title has been mapped on a frozen base map:

  1. Start by doing a search of a title, or a specific area.
  2. Select the title from the results in the search box, and view the title sheet.
  3. At the top of the polygon list, there will be a warning box informing that the title has been mapped on a frozen base map.

The title will be shown on the latest version of the OS Mastermap within the PV. Select the History Tab to view the version on the frozen base map.
