L28 Substitute Land and Charge Certificates

The introduction of the Land Registration (Scotland) Rules 2006 on 22 January 2007, revoked Rule 19 of the Land Registration (Scotland) Rules 1980, which allowed the Keeper to issue a substitute certificate, marked ‘substitute’, provided he is satisfied that the certificate is lost or destroyed. As a consequence, Substitute Certificates can no longer be issued. Settlers must remove all reference to Substitute Certificates from the Title Sheet when processing subsequent applications.
