Index search results and viewing an index

If the archive finds results which match the search, they will be displayed in the results page.

All results will be listed in a table on the left-hand side of the screen with the first image displayed on the right.

The results table will display how many results have been found. Choose how many results are listed by using the ‘Items per page’ dropdown options.

To view the different images click the links in the results table.

There maybe more than one result per image. For example an index image may have multiple names recorded against it, for example Ada Smith, Alan Smith and Agnes Smith.

When an image has been viewed, a green tick will be displayed. This can be useful when there’s more than one result.

To download one or more images, select the images required by selecting the checkbox. Then click to ‘Download selected’.

A PDF of the image will be downloaded. If multiple images have been selected, they will download into a single PDF.

When searching for a volume ID, the archive may find results for both person and address. In some cases results can be found for all 3 search types, person, address, and organisation.

When this happen the results will be displayed in different tabs within the results table.

Use the links in the tab to change the results.
