Update - September 2020

The DMS is now being phased out and replaced by Plan Creator. Guidance for using plan creator is available on the O Drive - see this update for details of where to find it. Some plans staff still have access to the DMS, so this guide will remain online until the DMS has been fully withdrawn.

This section contains all the user guides for completing the plans settle of a first registration (FR) that is not in a research area (RA).

In Step 1 - Take on case, there are a series of checks to be made that will identify if the FR is for a tenement or non-tenement property. There are separate user guides to be followed for both types of property.

In Step 3 (Non-tenement) - Check for common areas & shared plots, there are a series of checks to be made that will identify which of the 3 options in steps 4 to 7 should be used - no common areas, sharing & shared plots, or common areas that are being registered under the transitional provisions.

In Step 3 (Tenement) - Check for common areas & shared plots, there are a series of checks to be made that will identify which of the 3 options in steps 4 to 7 should be used - Tenement property with all rights, etc contained within the tenement steading; tenement property that becomes a sharing plot as it includes rights in a shared plot outwith the tenement steading; or tenement property with rights in external common areas that now fall within the tenement steading as they are being mapped under the transitional provisions.
