The pages Signing and Deeds not granted by Recorded/Registered Proprietor, both of which are in the Further Guidance section of the manual, have been updated. These pages now include brief information regarding the signing of deeds by the sheriff clerk on behalf of a granter who cannot be found or who has failed or refused to sign a deed. This is a rare event but has recently been encountered in relation to a registrable deed.Â
