The Persons Indexing Guidelines have now been added to the 2012 Act Registration Manual. Although there has been no change in policy, several areas have been clarified and new examples have been provided of how to index. The guidelines can be found in the Reference Materials section of the manual as a part of a new Indexing Guidelines section. Other pages in the new section include Localities and Post Towns in Scotland. The Property Indexing Guidelines have also been moved into this new Indexing Guidelines section of the manual so that all indexing guidance can now be found in a single section of the manual.
The old version of the indexing guidelines will shortly be withdrawn from the Intranet.
Registers of Scotland (RoS) seeks to ensure that the information published in the 2012 Act Registration Manual is up to date and accurate but it may be amended from time to time.
