High Fee Process

Work with a consideration or value certified on the application form, or in the body of the deed, as being £3 million or more must be logged.

  • CMS will recognise that a high fee has been entered on LRS and will prompt you to confirm that it is a high fee.
    • If it is correct, then confirm the fee and CMS will notify finance.
      • You will no longer have to email finance separately.
      • Follow the Legal Referral Process.
      • Add the case details to the log when requested by the referral officer: O:\Production\All BU\Public\High Value Casework\High Value Casework Logs.
      • Refer back to the referral officer for the appropriate checks of cases of this value.
      • Settle the case according to the advice of the referral officer when they return it to you.
    • If the fee is incorrect then click No.
      • CMS will prompt you for a new UID.
      • Since the application in LRS has been app confirmed, you will not be able to delete and use the 'get UID' function.
      • You will need to create a manual Direct Debit batch in eFin in order to create the new UID.
      • You will not need to let finance know you have cancelled the first UID at this point.
      • Amend the UID in LRS and apply.
      • Enter the new UID into the field on CMS and submit.
      • Settle as normal.

If the consideration is between £1 million and £3 million then continue with the current process and email Finance Direct Debits to confirm the fee is correct before processing the case.
