Indexing and Addressing Guidelines
In the public registers maintained by Registers of Scotland (RoS), such as the Land Register, there is a lot of very useful data relating to people and places. Ensuring that this data is captured, stored and used in a consistent manner is vitally important:
it means that the accuracy of searches made in the Land Register can be maintained
it is necessary for all of our customers who rely on the quality of the data provided by the Keeper
it provides a level of consistency in the data to enable more efficient future database analysis of our records
it is important for the RoS business development team who provide reports for business purposes.
Therefore, it is important that the indexing and addressing guidelines contained in this section are adhered to.
