Extent of Subjects

Does the extent of the subjects on the Crofting Register agree with the extent of the subjects in the plan attached to the application form?
• Check that the extent of the croft and the extent of any referenced areas match the plan and any additional evidence that has been supplied such as Decrofting Directions, Apportionment Orders and Resumptions.
• Check the submission email for any instructions in relation to the mapping.

Note: any directions/orders take precedence over any referenced areas that have been mapped on the applicant's plan unless email states otherwise.

Are all references clearly visible and appropriate on the registration schedule?
• Ensure a red edge has been used for the extent of the croft.
• Check the colour reference for each type of reference i.e. decrofted areas - tinted green, permanent apportionments - tinted blue, temporary apportionments - tinted purple, permanent resumptions - edged green, temporary resumptions - edged blue. Ensure all are visible and appropriate.
• If an enlargement has been used ensure it has been labelled and titled appropriately.
• Ensure each reference is referred to in the notes section of the registration schedule (including date of removal and type of referenced area).
• Ensure each reference is reflected correctly in the Diary of Events on ArcMap (including date of removal and type of referenced area).
• Ensure labels have been used on the registration schedule if multiple referenced areas of the same type.
• Ensure the croft marker is visible on the overview of Scotland.

Note: any tints should have a transparency of 30%

Has the correct fee been entered on ArcMap?
• The current fee for croft registrations and subsequent events is £90

Note: To be able to check this you may need to access previous versions on ArcMap. Check Version 1.0.0. (be aware that a Form G as result of the division of the croft will reflect a zero fee despite new registration - if in doubt check Diary of Events notes for further information).

Does the name of the croft match the details contained in the application form?
• Check the submission email for any overriding comments.
• The croft name should be reflected as NAME, TOWNSHIP, PARISH

Note: The croft will not have a postcode as the application form does not ask for this information to be provided.

• Has the Register of Crofts number been reflected accurately?
• Has "edged red" or "Edged red" been entered as the croft description?

Note: The Register of Crofts number is referred to as the Commission number on the Registration Schedule. Check submission email for any overriding comments.

Registered Parties

Have the registered parties listed in the application form been reflected correctly?
• Check the submission email for any overriding comments.
• Ensure each party is correctly reflected as landlord/owner/tenant/owner occupier.

Note: if any fields (i.e. the postcode) are left blank then replicate the same in the registration.

CG/Runrig Share

If there is a common grazing/runrig share listed on the the application form, has it been reflected correctly?
• Check the submission email for any overriding comments.
• Check if the affected common grazing/runrig is registered and ensure correct numbers have been reflected if registered.
• If registered, ensure the affected common grazing/share has been updated with the corresponding croft details.
